announcementA number of us on the Board are transitioning out at the end of our terms this June. To be direct, it’s time for some other parents to step into this important function to support our terrific music programs.

The board positions themselves are not time intensive (more so for Treasurer but we have better tools in place this year). Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6:30 and typically last 1.5 to 2 hours. There are instances where a member does outside work for the board other than fundraisers but this is not a common occurrence. Board members either lead or assist in most fundraisers which are well-supported by other parent volunteers.

Please consider applying for one of these positions; you are welcome to reach out in advance and ask current members about their respective roles.

Vice-President – Kerry Drum (who is putting forward her name as a candidate for President)
Treasurer – Miranda Curliss
Secretary – Kari Clawson
Choir rep – open (feel free to talk to me)
Band rep – Megan Cogswell

***Special note*** If you have accounting or bookkeeping experience, our highest priority is the position of Treasurer.

All prospective candidates need to submit an application by April 30 and will be voted on by the Board at the May meeting. Download your application form today!

Potluck and Homestay Help Needed!

Dear Music Parents and Students,

On 1/18, the world renowned Luther Nordic Choir will be doing a workshop and concert at South HS.  With hosting a group like this comes the need of providing them dinner and a place to stay.  We need to find  hosting 75 college students.  If you can host a pair of students from Luther, we ask that you please consider doing so. Additionally we are hoping our students in Symphonic Choir will have the opportunity to eat with the Nordic Choir.  So, we are needing to provide enough food for about 135 dinners.  Anything helps.  Thank you so much for your support of bringing world class performances and experiences to South for our students.

Please sign up to provide a food item for dinner here:
